For more information, click here>> Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) is an experiential business programme developed by Enterprise New Zealand Trust (ENZT). “Creating Tomorrow’s Entrepreneurs Today” . Secondary schools run this programme mainly at years 12/13. It involves working through the process of setting up and running a business, for real. This is not a textbook course - students invest real money, produce real products, pay real taxes and keep the real profits. Fundamentally, this scheme allows students to have a go at running a business within the safe environment of support and formal structure.
For students, Young Enterprise (YE) is a great opportunity to realise their uniqueness, develop strengths, work together as a team and possibly make money at the same time. Like any other team event, YE is about working towards their goals and taking all the steps necessary to achieve them.
Enterprising Manukau is the Counties Manukau YES Regional Coordinator .

Young Entrepreneurs set to go
Over 500 students representing Counties Manukau schools were at the recent E-Day (Entrepreneurial Day) which marks the launch of this year’s Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) at the sponsored venue of Manukau’s TelstraClear Pacific Events Centre.
The YES programme is designed to help students gain knowledge in operating a small business within a safe environment of support and formal structure. They learn team building, relationship management, financial management, leadership, following processors, legal requirements for running a business and reporting on company performance.
We are thrilled with the attendance of the 18 Counties Manukau Schools. Each young enterprise group is coached and mentored by a local business person, who volunteers their time.
